Trondheim, Norway, 21 – 24 August 2023

A packed AQUA NOR 2023, “The industry’s most important meeting place”, took place in Trondheim, Norway in August with an estimated 25,000 visitors from 82 countries and approximately 700 exhibitors primarily focussed on aquaculture sustainability.

dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition and Health was out in force with a pod located within the Scottish Pavilion where the Sustell™ team, among others from the business, met Mairi Gougeon, the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Land Reform and Islands of the Scottish Government.

In presenting dsm-firmenich to the Minister, Louise Buttle, Sustell™ Lead for Aqua & Global Key Account Manager at dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health explained, “We provide vitamins, pigments or performance additives, and digital solutions, such as Sustell™ and Digital SalmoFan that are developed for the aquaculture industry to further drive sustainable production.”

But this was not all. Over the four-day event, the Sustell™ team engaged with many visitors at their pod on the Scottish Pavilion and during an official address by Louise on the event program. Speaking at “Do you know your footprint? DSM's sustainability service Sustell™ on day one of the program, Louise said, “Sustell™ accurately measures the full environmental footprint of animal protein production with dedicated modules for salmon and soon also for other species and aquaculture production. In this way, Sustell™ is unique in that it provides producers with the most accurate and complete picture of their full environmental footprint together with science-based insights on how to reduce their impact and drive substantial improvements in the sustainability of aquaculture around the world.”
